Accessibility statement

Vatra Town Hall is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, in accordance with Law no. 60/2012 on the social inclusion of persons with disabilities and Government Decision no. 728/2023.

1. Conformance status

The website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA and the EN 301 549 standard. “Partially” means some material does not yet meet the requirements — see section 2.

2. Non-accessible content

  • PDF documents published before 2026 are scans without a text layer and cannot be read by screen readers. We are gradually replacing them with OCR-processed versions. The text of any document can be requested in an accessible format and will be supplied within 10 working days.
  • Some photographs from the 2016–2017 archive lack descriptive alternative text.
  • The embedded map is provided by an external service; the town hall address and coordinates are also published as text for those who cannot use the map.

3. What we have done

  • full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator;
  • text contrast verified across the site;
  • accessibility widget: greyscale, inverted colours, underlined links, larger and smaller text, high-contrast cursor;
  • correct heading structure, a single H1 per page, labels on every form field;
  • automated checks on every code change — a change cannot reach the site if it introduces an accessibility error.

4. Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 2026-08-05 following a self-assessment: automated testing with axe-core on key pages at two viewport sizes and manual verification of keyboard navigation.
